Chinese Dumplings

1 lb. Ground pork (lean is best)

Small hand of ginger, grated without skin

2 cloves of garlic, minced

2-3 green onions, thinly sliced

Optional-finely shredded Chinese cabbage

Wonton wrappers-round work best

  1. Combine all ingredients except wrappers. Salt and Pepper to taste.
  2. Take one wonton wrapper and fill with 1 teaspoon of filling. Dip finger in warm water and wet the edges of the wonton. Fold in half (like a taco) and pinch until edges are sealed.
  3. Make as many dumplings as possible and keep cool until ready to cook.
  4. Cooking: Steam in a bamboo steamer about 8-10 minutes. Optional and less healthy method is pan fry dumplings in small amount of oil for same amount of time. Tasty!

Dipping Sauce:

Store bought versions work well too, but homemade varieties can be cheaper and tastier.

Soy Sauce

Chili paste or Chili sauce (found in Asian grocery stores) to taste

Minced garlic or green onion slices

1. Combine all ingredients to taste and enjoy!
